Abutment materials. Zirconia, titanium and gold-shaded titanium. Atlantis™ abutments are available in zirconia, titanium or gold-shaded titanium (Atlantis GoldHue™). Each abutment is precision-machined from a solid blank of medical grade titanium alloy or zirconia. Atlantis™ abutment in zirconia The Atlantis™ abutment in zirconia is made of Y-TZP, yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystals. It offers unmatched strength and durability and is one of the few all-zirconia-engineered abutments currently on the market. The benefits of zirconia are the natural, tooth-like colour, the excellent biocompatibility and the reduced plaque build-up compared to titanium. Atlantis™ abutment in titanium. Atlantis™ abutments are among the very first CAD/CAM titanium abutments to be anatomically designed and produced for each specific patient and indication. The excellent design means there is no need for hand-grinding by a technician or a clinician. The abutments are milled from titanium alloy blanks. Atlantis GoldHue™ abutment. The Atlantis GoldHue™ abutment has the same features and benefits as the Atlantis™ abutment in titanium. In addition, it has a thin coating of titanium nitride, which gives it a warm gold-shaded color. This is an advantage in esthetically challenging cases with thin soft tissue or when using all-ceramic crowns. Abutment screws All abutments are delivered with the corresponding abutment screw. The abutment screws are designed and produced to match the internal geometry of Atlantis™ patient-specific abutments. Atlantis Gemini™ and Atlantis Gemini+™. Atlantis Gemini™ abutment is a functionally identical duplicate of the original abutment which can serve as a master die for enhanced laboratory accuracy and optimized crown fit. It is ordered and delivered together with the original abutment. Atlantis Gemini+™ abutment allows changes to be made to an existing abutment design. This eliminates the need for new impressions and registrations as well as the need to modify the abutment by hand.
